* Refers to the "Star Awards 2009" Nomination List on #10!

The following are basically just my personal opinion on how I felt towards the nomination list! Don't blame me if I didn't make good comments on the actors/actress that you have supported!

[BEST ACTOR] !
Looking at the performances of the 6 nominees, I basically think that it is definitely a close fight between Tay Ping Hui and Chen Han Wei. To me, I have that feel regarding that Tay Ping Hui had been nominated for many years, and also waited for this specific award for years. So this year might be his turn to bring this award back home. To be added, his performance in "The Golden Path" who played as an evil and heartless guy's role was totally great! I believe Chen Han Wei who played as an Aids-Patient in "By My Side" did touched many people's heart! No doubt, the nominees here are all good actors (except Adrian Pang). Huang Wen Yong's role was quite humorous in "Just In Singapore" too. I don't really know how to elaborate both Qi Yu Wu and Pierre Png roles in "The Little Nyonya", but their performances was obviously not bad too! Somehow, I was quite shocked that Zheng Ge Ping didn't got nominated for his role in "Love Blossom", he's one of the best actor to me! Haiyoo, why did Li Nan Xing choose to opted out?!!! If not, he will surely have a much higher chance to be the Best Actor with his role in "The Golden Path" than the others for the year again.

[BEST ACTRESS] !
Wow! Chen Li Ping alone have already took 2 sits of this specific list. No doubt, both her roles in "The Golden Path" and "Just In Singapore" was good. Fann Wong was also able to portrayed her role as a depression patient really well (up to a top acting-skills standard) in "The Defining Moment"! While Felicia Chin did brings out the 'dao-dao; cool' feel in "The Golden Path", which is not bad too. Finally, it is "The Little Nyonya" feverrr! Both Jeanette Aw and Joanne Peh was nominated successfully! I believe many will see Jeanette as the hottest-favourite, or even the winner for this specific award! Her performance was really an outbreak for her over the years. While Joanne's performance was okay too. Anyway, I have read some of the forums mentioning that many people out there was very shocked to know that Rui En and Zoe Tay was not able to get a nomination, despite their outstanding performances in "By My Side". Oh well... To me, I personally felt more pity for Ann Kok and Ivy Lee for not being able to get their nomination with their roles in "La Famme" for Ann and "Love Blossom" for Ivy. Both are few of the actresses that could really handle their given roles well. High quality of performance in every single role they each took on. Hais, somehow it's fate!

[BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR] !
Browsing through the nominees, 04 actors actually came from the drama "The Little Nyonya". Firstly, I would like to comment that Dai Yang Tian's acting couldn't make it for this nomination in the first place at all! His acting standard is still very fragile with only 08 episodes of performance (full length of 34 episodes) in the drama. While the remaining 03 actors who came from the same drama, their performances was equally awesome! Be it Darren Lim, Z Zen or Yao Wen Long. Especially Z Zen, his efforts over the years had finally paid off with his baddie role in the drama. Okay enough of "The Little Nyonya", lets move on to the remaining 02 nominees. Zhu Hou Ren had an awesome splendid performance as a lunatic in "The Defining Moment", he's simply great! Same goes to the outstanding performance by Chew Chor Meng in "The Golden Path". The only disappointment was that Wang Yu Qing didn't got nominated with his 'Oily Man' role in "The Golden Path".

[BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS] !
One of the toughest awards fight for the night on 26th April, the other is obviously the Best Actress award category. Anyway, within the 06 nominees, a maximum of up to 05 came from the drama "The Little Nyonya"! It's simply way too amazing. All the nominees for this award developed their roles really well! Okay, Eelyn Kok emotional scenes was good, she could handled her role up to an expecting standard! For Ng Hui, the role that she played had shown a tremendous improvement for her career. While Xiang Yun is obviously one of the best auntie-actress that many would have agree, plus her role in this drama did touched people's heart too! Lin Mei Jiao, her outstanding performance is totally awesome! She is able to portrayed her role as an evil woman really well! Li Yin Zhu, why didn't she got nominated with her role as 'Aunty Automatic' in "Just In Singapore" instead?! I believe if she was to be nominated with that role, she could easily win this award. Didn't expect this 'Chor Chor' role could bring her a nomination too. However, this really bring down her chance for winning this award successfully. Lastly, Wayne Chua have also brought up a bravo performance in "The Golden Path" as 'Rou Gu Mei', well done! Anyway, I was quite disappointed that Cynthia Koh from "The Little Nyonya" and Patricia Mok from either "Just In Singapore" or "Love Blossom" didn't got nominated for this specific award! For Cynthia Koh, she was consistently good and passionately natural throughout the show. She have matured over the years and eventually recognising and appreciating her true roots. While Patricia Mok, her role in either of the dramas proved that she could put up a brilliant show and was able to act in a nutshell! It is such a waste that both of them didn't even gain a nomination. Sigh...

[BEST VARIETY SHOW HOST] !
Within the 06 nominees, I'm very surprised to see Christopher Lee's name appearing on this segment! He only hosted for the first time and have already got nominated, how lucky! To be added, how is it possible that Marcus Chin was able to got his nomination with his variety show which was shown on the afternoon @ 3.30pm (first-time ever)?!!! That's simply too ridiculous! Anyway, I was quite happy to see Lee Teng's name appearing on this list. He's a humorous host, and he improved himself every now and then, which is very good! It is quite standard to see the remaining 03 hosts on the list, which includes Kym Ng, Guo Liang and Quan Yi Fong. Either one of the three, deserved to win this award! Anyway, I actually hoped for Vivian Lai's name to be on the list for this year, she's a humorous host which brought out her 'blur-blur' expression-look, which is quite adorable indeed. Well it's okay, even though she didn't got nominated, she have already gotten her bonus which is she have already pregnant for 03 months!

Dark Horse: Quan Yi Fong


[BEST INFO-ED PROGRAMME HOST] !
Don't really have comment for this segment as this is a new-added award starting from this year. Just that it is very comfortable to see Lim Pei Fen hosting. While Dasmond Koh is definitely able to handle every sort of hosting programmes. No doubt to Guo Liang's abilities in hosting. Belinda have finally gotten her recognition with 02 programmes being nominated in this list! I must say that her efforts over the years have finally paid off! Well done!

Dark Horse: Guo Liang


[BEST NEWCOMER] !
Among the nominees, Paige Chua and Jerry Yeo acting was much better than the others. Paige was able to brings out her role well, especially all the emotional scenes in "Just In Singapore" despite it's only her first drama. While Jerry Yeo is one of the well-known newcomer who could really act! Dai Yang Tian is very very very popular nowadays, thus he stands a high chance of winning this award with all the helps from Mediacorp. Both Koh Yah Hwee and Andie Chen also proved that they are few who could really act, given their outstanding performances in Star Search 2007. Lastly, Zhang Zhen Huan is the least experience among all the nominees. After all, he is already considered not bad being able to get a nomination with his second position in the competition, eventually it doesn't apply the same to Yuan Shuai.

My Winner: Paige Chua OR Dai Yang Tian
Dark Horse: Koh Yah Hwee


Finally, I'm done with the analysis of the above nomination lists, which I have spent for 02 hours! Once again, all the analysis made above are just basically my opinions. That's all for the episode. Anyway, I guess I still haven't recover from what I have mentioned on the previous episode; #11.

* Once again, Sorry for the wordy episode as I did not bother to have a better organisation, due to not getting into the correct mood right now (Currently).
